Which Subaru models were recognized for their outstanding total ownership costs?
Purchasing a vehicle is a huge financial commitment. Whether you’re buying new or used, big or small, car or truck or any other designation, you’re making an investment in something that you’ll be using for quite some time. It’s not inexpensive, even the most affordable vehicles, so it’s important to make sure that a vehicle is within your budget. There is much more to the cost of a vehicle than just its ticket price and monthly payment, though.
These two numbers, combined with long-term costs such as fuel, maintenance, depreciation and more add up to show you the total cost of ownership. Vehicles with low total ownership costs are even more affordable than some models with lower ticket prices, so it’s nice to know which models have this. That’s why we were so pleased to see some Subaru models recently get recognized for their outstanding total ownership costs.

Canadian Black Book Best Residual Value Awards
Even though the awards are from a company north of the border, these recognitions are very exciting and should be just as much so to consumers like you. Having good residual value is another way of saying low ownership costs, as it highlights the value of a vehicle after depreciation has completely set in. We’re excited because not just one Subaru model was recognized, but rather four different models placed within their given categories.
In the Car: Main category, the 2023 Subaru Impreza took home the prize, being ranked number one. The SUV: Main Compact/Subcompact category was represented by the 2023 Subaru Crosstrek, as it took second place. Both the 2023 Subaru BRZ and Solterra took home third place in their respective categories, which were Spots Car Main and EV SUV below $60,000 respectively.
All four of these models are great options for much more than simply their outstanding total ownership costs, but this certainly puts a cherry on top. These recognitions make it much easier for these vehicles to fit into your budget, including the exciting new all-electric 2023 Subaru Solterra.
