What’s new in the 2024 Subaru Impreza? Release Date & Highlights

For decades now, the Impreza has been a huge part of the Subaru lineup. Its reputation and legacy certainly precede it, as it’s not only responsible for being one of the popular models on the lineup, but as being one of the most pivotal as well – spawning two additional popular models that originated as variants of the Impreza. We’re talking about the WRX and the Crosstrek, of course, which were originally variations of our favorite compact car. For the upcoming model year, the latest iteration – the 2024 Subaru Impreza – has been completely redesigned, undergoing some pretty drastic and very exciting updates and changes. Highlighted Updates & Enhancements

The biggest and most exciting chance coming to the 2024 Subaru Impreza is the fact that there will just be one body style this year. The vehicle is well known for its variations in shape and size, as we already spoke about in regards to its legacy. Last year it was available as both a traditional four-door sedan as well as a five-door hatchback, but the former will be gone starting in 2024 leaving only the hatchback style.

Another big, exciting update for the new model year is the return of the RS trim level. RS is a legendary nameplate among Subaru model trim levels, in this case representing the best performing trim for the Impreza. It gets its own updated powertrain and a host of other upgrades over the base and Sport trim levels. The powertrain in question includes a 2.5L BOXER engine capable of generating 182 horsepower.

Other highlighted updates to the entire Impreza model include a lot of aesthetic changes to the design, both inside and out, new STARLINK services such as Valet Mode, Trip Log, Driving Journal and more, features like wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto and much more. Plus, for the first time on the Impreza, the 11.6L Multimedia Plus system will be available.

Release Date

While exact dates of arrival aren’t yet known, the 2024 Subaru Impreza has been given a release date of early summer this year.
