The Ninth Year in Partnership with The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society

After nine consecutive years in partnership with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Subaru continues to help and support families across the US. Subaru has an outstanding reputation for the care and attention it places on helping local communities and creating a social impact. Here at Subaru of Rochester, we fully support all the amazing partnerships made over the years that aim to give back and make the world a better place.

Subaru Loves to Care Month

June has been deemed as Subaru Loves to Care month and during this past month over 600 retailers joined together to provide, funding, blanket donations, and hope to blood cancer patients. Together, the retailers raised over $100,000 in just one month. This amount was able to provide over 350,000 cancer patients with blankets and sweet handwritten notes. Out of the 600 retailers, there were over 400 retailers that also donated curated care kits. These kits provided the patients with both physical and emotional support while they were undergoing treatment. Retailers also donated to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Urgent Need Pediatric, Adolescent, and Young Adult Fund. These donations went toward nonmedical expenses, so they assisted families with things like grocery bills, transportation, or household utilities.

Making a Difference Together

Alan Bethke, who is the Vice President of Marketing for Subaru America, made a statement about the partnership with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society that helps us understand more about why this partnership has lasted so long and why this continues to be an important cause that Subaru loves being a part of. “During Subaru Loves to Care month, we take to heart the difference that a personalized show of support can make for those facing cancer. We are grateful to continue our partnership with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, working with our retailers to provide warmth, love, and relief to so many courageous patients.”

In response to the support that they have been receiving from Subaru, E. Anders Kolb, the President and CEO of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, states, “As a pediatric hematologist-oncologist, I’ve seen firsthand the joy that unexpected gifts bring to cancer patients, especially kids going through treatment. We are so grateful to our long-standing partner Subaru and its retailers for their generous contributions and blanket deliveries, and for recognizing patients’ experiences in a meaningful way that lifts their spirits and reminds them they are not alone.”

After an incredible nine years of partnership with this society, Subaru plans to continue this partnership and loves to help those in need.
