Is a Subaru on Consumer Reports’ list of the top 5 Most Satisfying Compact and Subcompact SUVs?

In case you’ve never heard of it or were simply never sure exactly what it is, Consumer Reports is a nonprofit organization that works directly with consumers to investigate what products are the most well received by customers. This includes the automotive industry, where they often release lists detailing the best vehicles in a given category or something similar. For example, the company recently released a list of the top five “Most Satisfying Compact and Subcompact SUVs.” We were eager to see if a Subaru model made the cut and we were pleased that not only did a model make the list, it was ranked number one… and another Subaru model was ranked number two!

Which two Subaru models made the list?

There are a ton of compact and subcompact utility vehicles on the market today, especially given the surge in popularity of crossovers over the past several years. It’s no surprise to us that consumers are happy with their Subaru models, but we’re definitely pleased to see the results. Both the compact 2023 Subaru Forester and the subcompact 2023 Subaru Crosstrek made the list, in that order. To give you context, other models on the list included the Hyundai Tucson, Ford Bronco Sport and Mazda CX-5.

While topping a list of five is great, it’s actually much more impressive than that. With the Consumer Reports scoring system, the latest Subaru Forester earned 87 points, giving it the number one rank in the Compact SUV category, which consists of 28 vehicles total. The Crosstrek was nearly as successful, scoring 84 points and making it the second highest scoring subcompact crossover among 19 models total.

This is just extra fuel to show how incredible models built by the Subaru brand are. While this is just two models, they are the only models from the brand that fit the category and they’re in the top two. That reflects well on the entire brand, and should give you confidence that Subaru models are well received by existing customers.
