The dealer added STi exhaust tips and mufflers to the WRX long-term tester, which resulted in more bass from the exhaust system. Inside the cabin, it had a “boomier” tune, a sound many enthusiasts love. 

Subaru also added a strut tower brace and a short-shift kit. Though it seems like a simple appearance item, the strut brace adds more stability in the engine bay just below the hood. The short-shift kit actually bridges the gap in terms of shifter engagement with the gearbox.
