Subscribing to Solterra Connect is a great way to enhance your Subaru Solterra ownership experience. The subscription provides several convenience, support, and security services. Some services interact with the STARLINK app, while others just add more capability within the car itself. Read on for Subaru of Rochester’s description of Soterra Connect’s features and services 

Remote Start

An EV advantage near and dear to anyone in the Rochester, Minnesota area, is that the electric motor needs no warming up. You, on the other hand, still do. With Solterra Connect, you can start your Solterra’s climate control system from your Solterra smartphone app and have it start warming the cabin while still drawing power from the grid, rather than your battery.  You will enter a warm car and thus only draw power to keep it that way from the battery. In hot weather, you can pre-cool the car in the same way.

Digital Key

The Digital Key feature allows your smartphone to double as a vehicle key. After initially setting up the car to recognize your phone, you can simply walk up to your locked Solterra, grasp the door handle, get in, and start the car, even if you don’t have your key with you. Nor do you need the Solterra Connect app running, as the car will simply recognize your phone. Does someone need access to your car while you are away on business? No matter where you are, Digital Key enables you to invite up to six individuals to have access to and operate your car through their phones. You can then terminate access at any time.

Roadside Assistance

When you are in need of non-emergency roadside assistance, simply press a button located above the rearview mirror. The vehicle will automatically request help and will issue its GPS location. 

Cloud Navigation

The cloud-based navigation system allows you to use voice-activated commands or the touchscreen to search for directions, find business locations, or simply look at the traffic ahead and find ways to avoid it. The system will provide route options, turn-by-turn guidance, and suggested alternative routes based on traffic. Businesses open, close, and change locations, whereas the cloud-based system is constantly updated automatically and continuously.

Wi-Fi Hotspot with Integrated Streaming

With a Wi-Fi Connect subscription, your Solterra can become a Wi-Fi hotspot connecting you or your passengers to the world. This enables listening to your existing Apple Music and/or Amazon Music accounts while your passengers can connect to the digital world at the same time with connectivity to as many as five devices at a time.

Vehicle Health Report

Through your Solterra Connect smartphone app, you can access vehicle diagnostics information, such as the remaining battery range, odometer reading, general vehicle condition, and more.
